The Best Eats at Grand Lake

Grand Lake is a beautiful and popular destination in Oklahoma, especially for those who love spending time outdoors. With so many things to do in the area, it can be easy to work up an appetite. If you're looking for the best places to eat in Grand Lake, then look no further! Here is the inside scoop on our local favorites.

Nowhere on Route 66

For those who want a true taste of America, Nowhere on Route 66 is the perfect restaurant. They specialize in good old-fashioned comfort food with a twist. Some of their most popular dishes include their BBQ pulled pork, Cajun dry-rubbed ribs, and hand-pattied hamburgers. And if you're looking for something sweet to finish off your meal, be sure to try their fried cheesecake with whipped cream.

My personal favorite is the fried spicy pickles. We also love grabbing some meats and sides for a day on the boat. Just be sure to bring napkins!

I also love their story.

"It was a dream of ours to own a cozy cheers-like place, so we began by buying an old abandoned gas station in 2012 that was in need of a complete remodel. We agreed the best decor for a BBQ place on old Route 55 would be a rustic theme. We tore down several old barns and reclaimed the wood, tin, and old barn doors, then used them to remodel the inside to make a warm and friendly atmosphere. We collected old wood crates and items to fill them to add to the harm. Pictures of Afton back in its bustling railroad days are displayed proudly. We love our small town and feel it has a lot of potential. What sets us apart from other places in the area is our higher-quality meats and the time spent preparing and smoking them. We take pride in the time spent to hand rub all the meats and only use wood to smoke everything--no electric or gas smokers here. It's done the right way, low and slow in a hand-built wood smoker."

For one of the best local mom-and-pop restaurants, you can't beat Nowhere on Route 66. It's where the locals eat.
